Our intermediate course takes the skills you’ve learned at foundation level and develops them for use in your garden design practice or landscaping business.

Who’s it for?

Our intermediate Course is suitable for Garden Designers, Landscape Contractors, and anyone who works in the Landscaping Industry interested in using SketchUp in their work. It’s aimed at people who have a solid grasp of the basics of SketchUp are ready to progress their knowledge and use the software in a more complex way, relevant to their day to day business. 

What Experience Do You Need?

Ideally, students will have previously sat our SketchUp for Garden Design Foundation course before enrolling on the Intermediate level. Students who have not studied with us before will need to demonstrate a solid understanding of the basics of SketchUp including the use of groups, components, and layering.

What Will You Learn?

The course is a day long session which includes the following subjects:

  • Transfering hand-drawn surveys into SketchUp.
  • Importing CAD surveys into SketchUp for manipulation.
  • Importing hand-drawn plans and using them to create 3D concept models.
  • Creating accurate topography from spot heights
  • Creating planting plans.
  • Create a personalised planting library.
  • Tips on creating accurate 3D buildings.

One2One with your Tutor

Enjoy a personalised learning experience in the comfort and familiarity of your own office or workspace. Our tutors will visit you for the day and spend their time and energy focused on your own unique learning requirements


If you’re too far away from our tutors to receive an individual training session, take the opportunity to sit the course remotely using the latest online video conferencing systems. Our online courses allow students from around the world to learn how to use SketchUp from the comfort of their own desks

Group Learning

Get the benefit of other students’ questions and input in one of our group training sessions. Currently held at our centres in London and Farnham we provide group sessions capped at 6 students per group so you get the benefit of learning with others while not feeling like you’re being left to it as part of a larger group.
